Registering For an Appointment

  • When patients are given a time for their appointments this is a guide only for when they will be seen. Emergencies happen and Doctors may get called away from clinics. Every effort is made to stick to the time given but it is not always possible so you should be prepared for some delay.

  • You should allow yourself plenty of time to get here and to park to ensure you are here on time for your appointment.

  • If you are going to be very late for your appointment you should telephone and check that the clinic will still be running when you get here.

  • Patients checking in for Orthopaedic of Fracture clinics should check-in in the Orthopaedic Check-in room to the left of the main check-in desk.

  • All other patients should take a ticket in the main waiting area in the Out-Patients department and wait to be checked in by one of the receptionists.

Things to bring to your childs' appointment

    • A parent or guardian must accompany any patient under the age of 16 to the hospital.
    • The patients' appointment card.
    • If you are a new patient the appointment letter and completed registration form that will have been sent to you with the appointment letter.
    • A medical card if you have one.
    • A list of questions you may want to ask the Doctor.
    • If the patient is an infant, enough nappies and bottles to take care of the babys' needs for the duration of the visit, taking into account there may be some delay.
