Vancomycin Resistant Enterococci (VRE) was detected recently on the cancer ward at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children Crumlin (OLHSC). OLHSC maintained its normal infection control practices and put additional measures in place, which have curtailed the spread of the organism.

The special occasion marks the official twinning arrangement made in February 2005 of the LE Eithne with Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children.

The special occasion marked the official twinning of the LE Eithne with Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children. Brian Lenihan TD, Minister for Children was present to greet the children.
